Rappel

Arson suspected at Octopus Resort
ARSON was the suspected cause of a fire that burned down the central complex of Octopus Resort on the island of Waya.
Simon Norton the owner of the resort said 32 guests staying at the resort have since been transported off the island and 30 start were sent home.
Waya is located in the Yasawa, 30 miles off the coast of Lautoka.
Mr Norton said the fire was not a village dispute, and the cause of the fire was "one individual" who had been giving him trouble over a long period of time.
"I made it clear to the police that it has nothing to do withe the landowners, my relationship with them has been excellent" he said.
Mr Norton said the fire started at about 4.30pm on Saturday.
"A staff member ran to report that " someone had run into the kitchen turned on all the gas outlets, told her to flee, and then threw a box of lit matches towards one of the outlets and made his escape" said Mr Norton.
He said her alert was immediately followed by an explossion and then the fire engulfed the central complex.
At this stage, he said he did not know the extent of the damages because he had to leave the island with the guests to ensure their accomodation and safety.
Mr Norton said while guests did leave the island whith their luggage, some may have lost their passports and other valuables stored in the main safe that had been located in the central complex.
Fidji Hotel Association chief executive, Olivia Pareti said she had been in contact with Mr Norton.
Ms Pareti said the Permanent Secretary of Tourism and Transport Mr Kohnio Meo, had been notified and that all steps had been taken to assist Mr Norton and the guests.
